Weekly Lines Talk (Coming Soon)
Our game-week discussion board — entertainment only.

When the Red Meat & Cigar Club show launches, every game week will include a segment where the hosts talk through the matchups and betting lines they find interesting. This page explains what that segment will be — and, just as important, what it won't be.
What Weekly Lines Talk is
It's a conversation. The hosts will pull up the week's posted lines, pick out the games worth talking about, and argue about them the way fans do at a bar or around a grill: injuries, matchups, travel, weather, motivation, and whatever else seems relevant. The goal is to make the numbers understandable and to make game week more fun.
When someone has an opinion, they'll explain the reasoning out loud. If a line looks interesting because a team's offensive line is banged up, or because a total looks high given the forecast, you'll hear why. You can agree, disagree, or just enjoy the debate.
What it isn't
- Not advice. Nothing on the show or this site is a recommendation to place any bet. It's entertainment and education.
- No "locks." There's no such thing as a guaranteed bet, and we won't pretend otherwise.
- No fake records. We won't post invented win-loss records, made-up return percentages, or cherry-picked results. If we ever track the hosts' opinions, we'll show every one of them, wins and losses.
- No paid picks. We don't sell picks, and we suggest real caution with anyone who does.
- No promo codes. We have no sportsbook affiliate relationships at this time.
The kinds of things we'll talk about
Marquee matchups. National games, rivalry weeks, and playoff races.
How the numbers work. When a spread moves or a total looks odd, we'll use it as a teaching moment, tying back to the Betting 101 guides on spreads, totals, and line movement.
Responsible play. Bankroll talk will be a regular part of the segment, not an afterthought. Our bankroll basics guide lays out the approach.

Where it's legal
Sports betting is legal only in some states, and the rules differ from place to place. You must be 21 or older.
Why we do it this way
Sports betting can be a fun part of being a fan, and plenty of people enjoy having a small stake in a game. It can also cause real harm when it gets out of hand. We'd rather help viewers understand the numbers and keep it in proportion than hype anything up. If betting stops being fun, call 1-800-GAMBLER.

How to watch along
If you follow along with a sportsbook app open, decide on your limit before the segment starts and stick to it. Listening to people argue about a spread is free; acting on it is optional. Many viewers will enjoy the segment purely as a way to understand why the numbers sit where they do. That's exactly the point.
